Mars Fountain

The Mars Fountain stands in the north-western part of the Old Market Square. It was unveiled in 2005. The sculpture is by Rafał Nowak, and the donors were Wanda and Romuald Szperliński.

History

In the 17th century one of the square's fountains stood here, which supplied residents with water until the end of the 19th century. The new fountain restored this historic place.

The fountain is named after Mars, the Roman god of war, and is one of the four fountains standing on the square.
