New Zoo

The New Zoo opened on 16 September 1974 on Biała Góra above Lake Malta. It covers 120 hectares and is the second-largest zoo in Poland.

What to see

The elephant house with an outdoor area for African elephants.

A three-hectare bear sanctuary, created together with a German-Austrian foundation.

A collection of birds of prey and owls, one of the richest in Europe.

The black rhinoceros pavilion and the nocturnal animals pavilion.

Fort III from 1877–1881, a fragment of the former Poznań Fortress.

Good to know

In the season (in 2026 until 27 September) you can get here on the Maltanka Park Railway, which runs along the lake to the Zwierzyniec station at the zoo entrance.

You do not need to print your ticket; the code on your phone is enough.

Parking is paid from 1 April to 31 October.

The ticket offices close an hour before the zoo closes.
