Arkady Fiedler Museum in Puszczykowo

Arkady Fiedler (1894–1985) was a writer and traveller, author of, among others, “Squadron 303”. The museum has operated since 1 January 1974 in his family villa in Puszczykowo, which he bought in 1946 after returning from emigration. By the end of 2000 it had been visited by more than a million people.

What to see

Mementoes of Fiedler's expeditions: masks and ritual sculptures, bows and blowpipes, tropical butterflies, spiders and scorpions, as well as souvenirs of the Second World War and Squadron 303.

The exhibition “The Mysterious World of the Indians”, opened in 2003 in a separate building.

The Garden of Tolerance around the villa, with models of sculptures and buildings important to various civilisations, among them a 6.5-metre statue of the Bamiyan Buddha, the Gate of the Sun from Tiahuanaco and an Olmec head from Mexico.
