Exhibitions
The Outbuilding (Oficyna): the exhibitions “The Culture-Forming Role of the Forest” (paintings, prints, sculptures, ceramics and glass inspired by the forest) and “The History of Forestry in Poland”, from the time of the partitions to communist Poland, with models of old charcoal kilns, tar works and forest beehives, among other things. The building was created by converting a distillery.
The Coach House of 1854: “Meeting the Forest”, on the geography, ecology and botany of the forest. It shows, among other things, 256 species of forest plants, fungi and animals from the Polish Red Data Book, and the 19th-century “tree books” of Prof. Carl von Hinterlang. There is also a multimedia model of the centre.
The Sheepfold of 1849 (1,039 m²): “Forest Technology”, with machines for producing charcoal, tar, pitch, potash, turpentine and soot, and old measuring instruments. A glazed passage links it with the Coach House.
The Dybul, a former cowshed: “Forest Protection”, on the natural and man-made threats to the forest.
